The Willow Charitable Foundation is a newly forming 501(c) 3, non-profit corporation birthed from the book project called Breakfast at Sally’s, published by Skyhorse Publishing, Inc. NY, NY.

Breakfast at Sally’s is a book written by Richard LeMieux during the time he was homeless in rural Washington State. When a local church body saw the value of the manuscript serving as a valuable advocacy tool for homelessness awareness, they bonded together to help make publishing possible.

You have heard that “it takes a village to raise a child”… well in this case, it took a village to raise a book. The journey of Breakfast at Sally’s is nearly as miraculous as Richard’s story itself. This is OUR story; of the church that gave him shelter, of the congregants that cared for his physical needs, his car, and his companion, Willow; of those who lovingly took the manuscript and helped craft the story, and of those who worked tirelessly to make the dream real. The Willow Charitable Foundation is the extension of this gift of love, continuing to give back to our community in a tangible way. In Breakfast at Sally’s, we have given voices to those who have none. The Willow Charitable Foundation exists to provide financial support to service agencies in designated areas where funding is difficult to obtain. Every small gift of time or money makes a difference. We, the many, are the solution.

“if children dream our future,
give them hope today
for a bright tomorrow,
join with me so they… have a place called home”

Willow Foundation will be funded by direct books sales, speaking engagement fees, corporate and private donations.

The goals of the foundation are to:

1. Raise awareness of who the homeless are in our communities and open a dialogue using the literary arts, music and visual arts.
2. Assist in financial alleviation of the impact of homelessness by providing assistance to other service organizations in the areas of emergency housing, staffing, consumables and program development.
